how do you know unless you try?

Sydnee : Do you think it matters ? knowing whether you’re doing wrong or not?
Debbie : I don’t think it matters, because if you feel what you like then go ahead and do it. Then if it turns out wrong, then you know it’s wrong. But how do you know unless you try?

Darryl Stover

Darryl had a stoma in his throat and as a result I could barely hear anything that he was saying. The audio picked up by my microphone is even worse and the whole recording is just a mess.
While I can't provide quotes, I can give you all a general idea of what he had to say.

Darryl is a fan of rock music. His favorite bands include Led Zeppelin, Boston, and Dream Theater. He formed a band with eight other kids when he was in high school and he learned to play pretty much every instrument in the world. I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not, but he told me he could play guitar, keyboard, saxophone, synth and trumpet. He wrote his own music and most of his songs were about marijuana. I asked him to sing me what he thought was his best song but he was too embarrassed, so he sung another song that he wrote instead, called "Pass The Herb." He told me that he and his band members blew any money they made from a gig on beer and then threw parties after every show. They would do all kinds of dancing, too, including break dancing. He studied engineering and knows how to put together computers and refrigerators. I asked him if he ever had a girlfriend and he told me he never did because he was too shy.

Frankenstein!

A bit of our discussion:
Miriam: What's a book that you like a lot?
Jeff: I just read a really good one....but I forgot the name.
Miriam: Frankenstein?!!!???
Jeff:...no....
Miriam: I love Frankenstein!!

Hahaha Miriam was so funny when we were talking to them. I was just going to quote when she said "Laverne?" but that one's better if you hear the audio clip.

I told you Old People were Horny!

Those Darn Horny Old Folks!

"I remember this one time, my little friend over here, the blind one, she’s 67 years old, and well somebody told her that I stay on the second floor and that I should come down there to the third floor to see her. And so I said hello and she said hello, and she said will you do me a favor, would you put your hand inside my skirt and rub and I said what’s the matter with you, I said I don’t even know you. And she said damn you I want it done, and I’m the boss. And then I did it, and then we started kissing each other and I we kissed, a hundred and thirty eight kisses. Are you hearing this? I kissed her 138 kisses"-Milton, 82

Speech by Bill Watterson

Hey everyone,

I came a cross this speech given by Bill Watterson, the creator of Calivn and Hobbes, to the 1990 graduating class of Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. I found it really inspiring and I felt like I should share it with you all. I implore you to read the entire thing; it's completely worth it and you'll be glad you did.
